Vacancy - Bulk Operations Supervisor
Are you seeking a role in which you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the terminal, ensuring all activities are performed in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements? Are you a driven, proactive individual with previous supervisory experience? We are seeking a Bulk Operations Supervisor to join our Peel Ports Logistics team at Ellesmere Port and help us keep the world moving!
Your role
In this role you will lead supervise the loading, unloading, and handling of bulk cargo, steel cargo, devanning of containers, project and general cargoes. You will lead a team of operatives, providing guidance and support and fostering a positive work environment which promotes teamwork, safety and accountability.
You will ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards and company policies. Collaborating with shipping agents, HGV drivers, tenants, contractors and warehouse personnel, you will coordinate cargo movements and address any operational issues or delays promptly. You will prepare daily operational reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and any issues encountered.
What you'll bring
You will have previous supervisory experience, ideally gained in port operations, logistics or a related field, combined with strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, safety regulations and port operations. You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
You will have strong IT skills and the ability to use a variety of software programmes. You will be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment, often outdoors. Due to the nature of the role you will need to have a flexible approach to accommodate operational demands.
