Are you seeking a role in which you can lead an engineering team in delivering a safe, reliable and efficient maintenance service across all port infrastructure, plant and equipment?  Do you have engineering management experience in a safety-critical, operational environment?  We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team at MTL Dublin and help us keep the world moving!

Your Role

 

In this role you will embed a strong safety culture throughout the engineering team, ensuring compliance with legislation and leading by example in health, safety and environmental matters.  You will manage and develop a multi-skilled engineering team, supporting individual development plans, regular reviews and technical upskilling.    

 

You will deliver all planned and reactive maintenance safely, effectively and within agreed budgets and timescales.  Leading regular performance discussions, driving accountability, engagement and continuous learning, you will also support the development of engineering strategies, investment plans and change programmes aligned with business goals.  

What you'll bring

 

You will be an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in maintenance planning and engineering operations alongside:

 

  • A dedicated leader who is safety-conscious and committed to progressing the capability and performance of the engineering function. 
  • Knowledge of the practical application of statutory compliance standards is essential.
  • Experience in supporting capital upgrade projects and working closely with operations, project teams and contractors to deliver engineering improvements. 
  • Proven track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams, you will also have experience managing third party contractors.
