Commercial Assistant

Are you seeking a role where you can help to ensure the effective organisation of a busy Operations Team?  Are you excited by the opportunity to work in a fast paced, operational environment?  We are seeking a Commercial Assistant to join our team at King George V Dock in Glasgow to help us keep the world moving!

Your Role

In this role you will work collaboratively, providing support to the Operations Team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Port.  You will act as the primary point of contact for queries from colleagues and ensure that commercial activities are completed, accurately and efficiently.  You will use our IT systems, SAP Ariba, to create, manage and process orders and invoices.  You will oversee customer, vessel and agent billing in VMS, Cargo and SAP systems.

You will also have the opportunity to support the management team by managing and supporting meetings and visits with customers and other stakeholders and will ensure that all supplies are readily available to those working within the Port.

What you'll bring

You will have strong experience in a busy administration role, with excellent IT skills and a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (V Lookup and Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint.  Experience in the logistics sector would be ideal but not essential, as would experience using SAP, including Ariba, Success Factors and Concur.

You will be a strong team player with a collaborative approach, using your strong organisational and problem solving skills to ensure efficient organisation and problem solving.
