Responsibilities

 

The role of HR Advisor will deliver a proactive, innovative and a dynamic HR service to c250 employees across our Ports in Glasgow, Greenock and Dublin. Reporting into the Liverpool based Head of HR and a key part of the wider people team , the role exists to provide a creative and business focused HR solution to key stakeholders. The ability to travel across the three sites is essential in ensuring you build and develop relationships with leaders, managers and employees in providing world class support and guidance on all HR matters.  

 

Responsibilities also include:

 

- Provide generalist and operational HR advice & guidance to support the Clydeport Cluster (including Dublin) in achieving organisational goals.

- Be fully up to date and knowledgeable of company policies, procedures and legislation in order to deliver the highest standards of advice to employees.

- Act as a single point of contact for senior leaders, managers and employees.

- Provide advice, guidance and support in organisational design, change management, employee relations including building relationships with any relevant Trade Union or employee representative.

- Support the business with planning and preparation for legislation driven changes.

- Updating, maintaining and analysing HR Information Systems data.

- Support effective workforce planning with managers sourcing relevant MI information to inform the process.  Proactively manage  sickness absence and ill health capability issues, promoting health & wellbeing and liaising closely with managers at all times.

- Provide assistance with continuous improvement projects and internal audit work.

- Support the cluster with any HR related activity derived from the Group HR objectives and value add projects.

- Support business change efforts, initiating and facilitation change and business improvement activity in line with strategy.

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

- Ideally by CIPD qualified (minimum Level 5) or working towards.

- Ability to manage large workloads, operate self-sufficiently and prioritise work effectively.

- Ability to use a HR information system, including accessing, inputting and compiling data.

- Up to date and knowledgeable on Employment Law and current legislation.

- HR experience in an industrial/operational environment would be beneficial.

- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse employee group.
