We are seeking Port Operatives to work across KGV Docks and Rothesay Dock in our Clydeport cluster and be part of a team that helps keep the world moving!

Your Role

As a Port Operative, you will be part of a team delivering safe and efficient port operations. You will operate plant, machinery and equipment, report defects, maintain high standards of housekeeping, and support a positive safety culture. You'll also have opportunities to develop your skills through training and multi-skilled working across a range of operational activities.

What you'll bring

You may already be working in an operational role or be looking to take the next step into your first position at this level. You will have demonstrable experience within an industrial or port-based environment, with experience operating Loading Shovels, 360 Excavators, FLTs and Telehandlers being advantageous. You will be able to work safely within a busy operational setting, including working at height when required, and demonstrate flexibility to meet changing operational demands.

A strong commitment to health and safety is essential, with the ability to uphold and contribute to Peel Ports' Health and Safety standards, policies and procedures. Experience handling wind turbine components and project cargo would be beneficial, as would holding an NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification (or equivalent).

You will also possess good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience operating port handling equipment such as FLTs, Loading Shovels and Mobile Harbour Cranes would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
