EHS Advisor

Are you passionate about protecting people and the environment?  Are you seeking a role where your work truly matters and you have the opportunity to develop your skills and build your career in EHS?  We are seeking an EHS Advisor, based at the Port of East Anglia, to play a key role in strengthening our safety culture, improving systems and processes, and ensuring everyone across our port operations goes home safe every day.

Your role

In this role, you’ll provide EHS support for our leadership and operational teams across all port activities, administering EHS records and reporting, as well as monitoring and measuring performance whilst supporting continuous improvement across the port.  You will provide guidance, coaching, and practical solutions, conducting incident investigations where you will identify root causes and drive meaningful improvements.

An important part of your role will be reviewing and updating policies, procedures, and systems to ensure they remain current and effective.  You will also deliver training to operational teams – helping colleagues understand and apply safe working practices.

This is a rewarding opportunity with clear recognition, structured training and a genuine career path in EHS, where you will be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, fresh ideas, and proactive thinking.

What you'll bring

You will have:

  • Experience in high‑risk environments such as Offshore, Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Ports and Docks or Construction;
  • Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation and regulatory requirements;
  • Good IT capability including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • A NEBOSH General Certificate – this is essential;
  • Auditing experience with ISO standards;
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally across sites

Who are we

Already one of the UK’s leading port and logistics companies, we are planning substantial capital investment over the next 5 years to achieve our vision of becoming the UK’s leading port operator.  We have ambitious plans to grow and transform the supply chain to benefit our customers.  Our investments are decarbonizing our operations, which in turn is helping us work towards our goal of having Net Zero Port Operations by 2040.  Much of our success depends on our unrivalled facilities and technology. But in our sector, it comes down to having the right talent to enable our organisation to grow.

What we can offer you

In addition to a competitive salary, we have a strong track record of developing our people to expand their skills and experience and develop their careers.  Valuing and rewarding our workforce is important to us which is why we offer a fantastic range of flexible benefits to choose from, such as:

  • 27 days holiday per annum (plus bank holidays)
  • Matched Contribution Pension Scheme up to 10%
  • Peel Ports Flexible Benefits including salary sacrifice car scheme, healthcare cash plans, Cycle2Work Scheme, critical illness insurance, gyms, retail vouchers
  • Commitment to learning and personal development
  • We promote good physical and mental health and can provide additional support to colleagues via our employee assistance programme when required
