Vacancy - Operations Supervisor

Your Role

 

Working with a team of operatives, you will plan, organise and lead operations to ensure they are conducted in line with Peel Ports procedures, including health and safety, operational and other required guidelines.  You will provide effective and proactive supervision and leadership of general operatives, third party labour, contractors and users of Port controlled quays.

 

Promoting a positive health and safety culture, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of all activities, actively looking for improvement opportunities.  You will produce risk assessments, dynamic risk assessments and toolbox talks, delivering these to colleagues.

 

You will ensure operations follow the required plans and procedures, working with other colleagues within the business to deliver customer-focused services and support. 

What you'll bring

 

You will have previous experience of Port and Cargo Handling operations, ideally with previous supervisory experience gained in industrial environments.  You will be able to manage large workloads and work in a fast paced environment, keeping Health and Safety at the forefront of all operations.

 

You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation.  Due to the nature of this role you will have a flexible approach to working and be willing/able to work on a flexible shift pattern.
