Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Engineering Department based at the Port of Clydeport.

 

Role Purpose: To assist with ensuring the engineering teams have the correct parts, materials and equipment to provide maximum asset uptime and availability.

 

 

This role will include the following responsibilities:

 

- Liaise with Engineering Managers and Stakeholders on a daily basis to ensure equipment uptime targets are consistently met throughout Clydeport

- Maintaining accurate stock control whilst continuously reviewing and managing stock turnover to improve efficiencies and cost

- Proactively eliminate any potential component shortfalls that may lead to a breakdown, interruptions of preventative maintenance or delivery shortfalls in customer demand spares

- Engage with supply chain as a 1st line purchaser, ensuring any issues that may impact operational effectiveness are resolved and to ensure parts, equipment and services arrive on time

- Undertake general Stores duties such as Receipting deliveries, Issuing parts and Kitting requests as and when required

- Liaise with engineering personnel on a daily basis to determine priorities, ensure KPIs are met and to advise on any shortage and/or ordering issues which may impact the delivery of engineering plans

 

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

 

- Previous experience of working in a Stores facility with quality controlled environments

- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation such as COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, EaWR, PSSR, Asbestos management and BS7121

- Prior experience in inventory control

- Knowledge of CMMS or document sharing software

- An understanding of the need for and commitment to maintaining asset critical supply chains, JIT, consignment stocking, Kanban

- Transactional procurement experience would be beneficial

- Must be willing and able to travel across multiple sites

- Full clean driving licence
