The role of Operations Supervisor will support the Terminal Management within Heysham Port operations, in the day to day activities including staff/HR, customer service and terminal management issues, and implementation of  operational, administration, health and safety and financial processes.


Responsibilities will include:


- Liaise with the Terminal Team Leaders, Engineering and Operational Teams to ensure an effective labour distribution, safe and efficient use of resources and all terminal housekeeping duties are maintained.

- Accountable for staff management and all associated administration/discipline investigations e.g. terminal management, customer services and health and safety compliance.

- Make job related decisions and prioritise work in line operational requirements and the delivery of productivity and cost performance aligned to budgetary controls

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and profitability through operational improvements.

- High level of shift flexibility, including nights and weekends


Skills and Experience


- Previous experience in a General Operations Supervisor role, ideally within the Port Industry.

- Experience within a RoRo Operational supervisory role is desired

- Proven experience in delivering major change/project initiatives into operations desirable

- Knowledge and application experience of Microsoft Office

- 5 GCSEs or equivalent qualifications of Grade C or above, including Maths and English

- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent is desired

- A full valid UK Driving License.
