Vacancy - Category Manager – Commercial Assets (Fleet, Plant, Marine and Transport)
Are you an experienced CIPS Qualified Procurement professional with a passion for driving forward a sustainable, value-adding and resilient supply chain? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment? We're seeking a Category Manager to lead procurement activities for around £90 million of spend on Commercial Assets, Fleet, Plant, Marine and Transport, ensuring our operations are running efficiently and cost-effectively whilst achieving the business need.
Your role
Reporting to our new Group Head of Procurement, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop category strategies and plans, and strategic supply initiatives and partnerships to fully leverage Peel Ports Group’s investment in commercial assets and services across fleet, plant, marine and transport, ensuring optimum value for money.
You will engage with stakeholders to align business strategy and policy to support the delivery of category plans. You will build strong supplier relationships to drive value and innovation in all activities, ensuring contractual compliance and proactive supplier management across a diverse portfolio of contracts and agreements.
You will provide commercial expertise to support leaders and managers to recognise and mitigate commercial risks.
What you'll bring
You will be CIPS qualified with experience of developing and delivering category plans and strategies ideally within the commercial assets space (fleet, plant, marine vessels) or similar. You will have the ability to interpret stakeholder and business needs into clear procurement requirements, and deliver innovation and operational efficiencies through effective market and trend analysis, . You will have the proven ability to influence and work collaboratively with senior level stakeholders and experience of using supplier relationship management methods to support continuous improvement, delivering value and operational efficiency. Experience of implementing best in class procurement policies, processes and governance models, previous exposure to working within a Regulated Procurement or Port environment would be an advantage.
