Vacancy - Control Room Operative

 

Are you seeking a role in which you can play a pivotal role in the delivery and fulfilment of Container Operations?  Are you excited by the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology in a fast paced, operational environment?  We are seeking Control Room Operatives to join our Containers division at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving!  We have permanent and fixed term opportunities available.

Your role

 

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient control of Terminal 2 operations, both shipside and landside, playing a pivotal role in the delivery and fulfilment of Container Operations.  You will provide dynamic, remote operation of cutting edge technology with in a purpose built £400m Container Terminal.  Promoting a successful Health & Safety culture, you will strive towards the company’s zero accident ambition. 

 

You will enable efficient passage through the facility for the haulage community, maintaining optimal landside and shipside performance by providing safe and accurate loading/discharging of containers to/from vessels.  Communicating effectively, you will ensure all important information is relayed to relevant parties via telephone, radio and email.

 

The team work on a 24/7 shift operation as part of a team on a rota basis.

What you'll bring

 

You will be a strong communicator, with experience of confidently relaying information in a clear manner to a range of customers or stakeholders. You will be adaptable and calm under pressure, with great problem solving abilities and strong attention to detail. You will be an excellent team player but will also be able to work independently and make decisions. You will have experience of using computers across a range of systems or packages concurrently. You will have a passion for learning and will be keen to develop your skills and experience. You will be qualified to a minimum GCSE level (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
