Vacancy - Delivery Operative
Are you excited by the opportunity to work in a fast paced, operational environment? Do you want to work for one of the UKs leading Port operators? We are seeking a Delivery Operative to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help keep the world moving!
Your role
In this role you will be responsible for the movement, control and management of cargo deliveries into the General Cargo Storage Areas and for onward delivery to end customers. You will report daily on stock levels, incidents and any delivery issues. Ensuring all cargo movements through the facilities are carried out with 100% accuracy, maintaining full attention to detail. You will support the production of Risk Assessments & Method Statements related to the facility, ensuring deliveries are carried out in full compliance of EHS requirements.
You will ensure the planning of the warehouse is carried out to maximise space utilisation and reduce delays in vessel discharge. You will ensure jobs are pre-planned carefully, taking into account all relevant factors such as labour, weather conditions, equipment, costs and timescales etc. You will carry out stock checks of cargo as required, and undertake other duties as deemed appropriate and where trained to do so.
What you'll bring
You will ideally have
- experience working within general cargo handling, combined with knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- the ability to work as part of a team, including prolonged periods of standing and walking within frequently dusty environments.
- previous experience of general cargo deliveries and storage
- excellent communication skills and flexible approach to working hours.
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- a full valid driving licence
- ideally an FLT licence
- ideally experience of inventory management systems.
