Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Health and Safety Department based at the Port of Liverpool.

 

Role Purpose: To support business units, specifically within the Mersey division covering the Port of Liverpool and Manchester Ship Canal, to comply with all regulatory and Peel Ports Group QSHE procedures and good practice.

 

This role will include the following responsibilities:

 

- Support development and delivery of local and Group QSHE improvement plans and initiatives

- Be recognised as a leader of QSHE standards and behaviours within the business

- Ensure incidents are reported, investigated and actions managed to the requirements defined by Group Governance

- Promote positive QSHE messages and learning from incidents

- Support ongoing development and maintenance of QSHE Management System including technical ownership within agreed topic owners

- Develop a working knowledge of all operational areas within the Mersey division to provide resilience within the team

 

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

 

- Previous experience in an EHS role, ideally gained within an industrial environment

- Fully aware of UK regulatory and legislative requirements

- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum, diploma level or working towards Chartered status is advantageous

- Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001

- Be a dynamic, self-motivated individual who can work under your own initiative

- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation

- Auditing experience would be beneficial

- Experienced in completing/supporting investigations and identifying root causes

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint/Excel)
