Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Engineering Department based at the Port of Liverpool.


Role Purpose: To maintain plant and equipment within all Bulk and Break Terminal (Biomass, Harbour Mobile, Grain Terminal, Animal Feed) operational areas, ensuring that duties undertaken are of a high standard, maximising operational uptime. This role will be based within the Biomass Engineering Team.


This role will include the following responsibilities:


- Maintain all electrical and controls equipment such as drives, PLCs and all other control systems installed on Bulk  handling equipment

- Troubleshoot Scada systems , drives and other electrical control systems installed on different types of equipment.  Fault finding using modern techniques , schematic drawings and experience

- Carry out modifications to plant and equipment

- Liaise with operations and prioritise breakdown repairs, undertaking adhoc requests as instructed by Supervisors/Line Managers

- Carry out all duties with due care and attention to personal health and safety

- Work at heights, confined spaces and in dirty/dusty environments


Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:


- Minimum ONC/OND in Electrical Engineering

- Working knowledge of control systems and principles

- Previous experience of working with heavy plant and equipment

- Fault finding and problem solving skills is essential

- Be willing and able to pass the necessary training to become and AP(LV) under the Port of Liverpool electrical safety rules

- 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Knowledge of effective maintenance strategies would be beneficial
