Are you seeking a role which offers the opportunity to lead, manage and inspire others in a 24/7 operational environment with global reach on a huge scale?  Are you excited to be able to develop your skills and experience and advance your career?  We’re seeking an experienced logistics professional to join us as Head of Operations within our Container Division.

Your Role

 

In this role you will report to the Operations Director, taking the lead for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective operation of two Terminals within our Container Division.   You will work collaboratively with other key stakeholders across the Division, including Senior Management, Planning and Engineering Teams, to ensure safe and productive operations which contribute to business success.

You will ensure safe working across manual and automated operations, taking accountability for managing any issues and ensuring mitigations are in place and managed appropriately.  You will develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, liaising with shipping lines and their agents to ensure effective work operations and responses to customer needs.  You will ensure operational plans across the two terminals are managed efficiently and effectively and will drive innovation across your area to improve costs and increase efficiency.

 

You will take the lead in ensuring operational teams across the Division are effectively managed and trained, contributing to resolving any issues quickly and effectively and that resource planning of labour and equipment is optimised.

What you'll bring

 

You will have experience of leading teams in an operational or logistics environment, using your knowledge and experience to lead change and ensure continuous improvement.  You will have a proven track record of using your strong people leadership skills to deliver a positive culture and effective performance.  Safety of operations is critical and you will have experience of managing this effectively across a broad operational environment.
