Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Bulk and Break Engineering Department based at the Port of Liverpool.

 

Role Purpose: To manage and mitigate risks that could adversely affect plant operations.  The key objectives of the role are to assure plant relatability, deliver continuous improvement tasks, maintain statutory compliance, and deliver minor capital projects.

 

 

This role will include the following responsibilities:

 

- Develop bespoke engineering solutions using statistical analysis for repetitive failures and other relevant operational issues that adversely affect Bulk Operations

- Be responsible and develop appropriate compliance plans in  line with current statutory compliance guidelines, and organise the compliance program by preparing timetables, cost estimates and required resources and equipment

- Supervise Technicians and Contractors to carry out maintenance tasks on plant equipment both reactive and planned

- Oversee development and installation of plant/equipment along with commissioning plans for all minor capital projects

- Ensure KPIs are developed and aligned to relevant objectives, ensuring they are reviewed to track progress and relevant action plans are developed to mitigate operational issues

- Provide technical support and expertise to both operations and engineering across Bulk Department

- Ensure compliance with company policies and any statutory legislation applicable to the job role, with particular regard to the Company’s obligations under PUWER, PSSR, LOLER, and  DSEAR

 

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

 

- Experience in heavy industry or manufacturing environment is essential

- Understanding of DSEAR, PUWER, COSHH with relevant qualifications

- Experience in producing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other problem solving documentation

- Demonstrate the ability to lead a multifunctional and multi-skilled team

- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in either electrical, mechanical or process engineering discipline

- An ability to interpret engineering drawings
