Vacancy - Operations Manager

 

Are you seeking a role in which you can develop operational procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with written procedures including health and safety, and operational guidelines?  Are you excited by the opportunity to supervise and lead a team of operational staff to ensure effective and efficient operations?  We are seeking an Operations Manager for our Steel and Metals Operation at the Port of Liverpool, to help us keep the world moving!

Your Role

 

In this role you will lead and develop team members to ensure effective and efficient operations, improving performance and ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.  You will identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation, working with management to analyse key performance metrics.  You will support terminal management with departmental budgets, as well as processing overtime and managing absence.

 

You will provide on-call support for supervisors during out of hours as part of a rota with the Steel Management team.  Promoting an open and transparent approach to communications, you will build strong working relationships with colleagues to engage, motivate, and provide the necessary level of support and guidance.

What you'll bring

 

You will have previous experience in leading teams of operatives ideally gained in a heavy industry, as well as:

 

  • Knowledge and experience with mobile plant
  • Previous training and supervisory experience
  • Willing and able to work in a physically demanding role which requires periods of prolonged concentration
  • Previous vessel operations experience is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills
  • NEBOSH qualified

 

As part of this role you will be required to take part in an on-call rota to provide support to Supervisors when required.
