If so, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for an Operations Trainer to join our team in the Mersey Division and play a vital role in building capability, safety, and compliance across our workforce.
Your role
As an Operations Trainer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessments to our Port Operatives, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and certifications to work safely and effectively. Working closely with Operations, Health & Safety, and our Learning & Development teams, you’ll support both new starters and experienced colleagues through training, refresher, and recertification programmes.

- Maintaining accurate training records and ensuring timely recertification of operatives
- Collaborating with internal teams and external providers to schedule and deliver training without disrupting operations

- Experienced Operators – Strong background operating heavy plant equipment (e.g. FLTs, cranes, reach stackers), ideally in a port or logistics environment, and have experience in supporting others to develop their skills. You will also be motivated to progress into a trainer role and we will support you to achieve RTITB/NPORS instructor status
In addition, you will ideally bring:
- Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and engage others
- A Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH) is advantageous
- A full UK driving licence
