If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Benefits Analyst to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving.

Your Role

In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end monthly payroll process, ensuring high levels of accuracy and strong compliance standards. You will analyse payroll data, identify and resolve variances, and undertake detailed reconciliation activities to support the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Through thorough validation and review of pre-payroll reports, you will ensure payroll is fully prepared for final authorisation and processing.

You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance payroll accuracy, controls and efficiency.

You will liaise with the wider payroll and HR team to ensure monthly payroll information, including overtime and flexible benefit adjustments, are submitted correctly.  You will also provide support to the weekly payroll as and when required.  

You will administer employee benefits and flexible benefits, managing relationships with benefits and systems providers. You will provide support to employees on queries relating to employee benefits.

What you'll bring

You will have proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, with good knowledge of payroll legislation.  You will have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will have meticulous accuracy when handling confidential data and solving complex payroll queries.

CIPP qualification or working towards a qualification would be highly advantageous.

With excellent communication skills, you will be able to build strong working relationships across the business.  You will have strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate, analyse and reconcile payroll data. Previous SAP experience would be an advantage.
