The Planning Manager role, within the Group Planning Department, will work alongside the Group Planning Director in managing a diverse caseload of planning related activities and will collaborate with the Port Directors and Property and Project Teams in pursuance of the delivery of the strategic business initiatives across the Peel Ports Group operational clusters and sites.


Responsibilities will also include:


- Manage and support the submission of permitted development projects

- Manage all aspects of the planning process for port related schemes, from pre-application discussions through to submission and favourable determination of planning applications

- Lead and manage the preparation of Port Master Plans and related studies/assessments and instigate effective stakeholder engagement

- Lead and manage in the submission of written responses to national and local planning and related policy consultations

- Support in the pursuance of the Strategic Business Plan initiatives in conjunction with the Port Directors and property team

- Liaise with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders to secure beneficial planning outcomes

- Support Port Directors in all regulatory planning elements of their business


Skills and Experience


- Previous experience within a Local Planning Authority

- Extensive Development Management experience

- Planning application/EIA process experience

- Community/Stakeholder management experience

- Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills to internal and external stakeholders

- RTPI accredited Planning Degree qualification

- MRTPI qualified

-Flexible approach to working with the ability to travel to satellite port estates
