Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Engineering Department based at the Port of Liverpool.

 

Role Purpose: To work within a team across a rolling shift pattern to provide and maintain the plant and equipment throughout Peel Ports Mersey and associated ancillary equipment to a high standard of efficiency.

 

 

This role will include the following responsibilities:

 

- Perform hands on maintenance work at the request of the Shift Team Leader/Relief Shift Team Leader

- Attend to unplanned failures in a timely manner to meet operational and engineering targets

- Comply with the Peel Safe Systems of Work throughout your shift

- Carry out modifications to plant and equipment

- Notify Team Leader/Relief Team Leader of all operational issues affecting delivery to plan without delay

- Work as an individual, or part of a multi-skilled workforce on preventative/scheduled maintenance on plant and equipment

- Liaise with operations and prioritise breakdown repairs

- Plan and manage own workload to minimise time lost

 

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

 

- Experience in rotating equipment and/or LV electrical experience

- Possess good working knowledge of permit to work systems and accident reporting

- Strong fault-finding and repair skills is essential

- Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills

- Time served Technician or recognised and relevant professional engineering qualification

- Qualified to a minimum ONC in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

- Knowledge of effective maintenance strategies i.e. RCM, PM, CBM & TPM is advantageous

- Able to prioritise tasks in a fast moving environment

- Must be willing to learn new skills and adapt to an ever changing work environment

- Knowledge of CMMS i.e. SAP and document sharing software

- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (where applicable)

- Full clean UK driving licence
