Vacancy - Electrical Shift Technician
Are you an experienced and qualified Electrical Engineer looking to develop your experience in a technician role and beyond? Do you have experience in an industrial environment working with heavy plant and equipment? We are seeking a Electrical Shift Technician to work within Mersey Engineering.
Your Role
In this role you will work with the Engineering team within Mersey Engineering, to deliver on-time delivery, continuous flow, customer satisfaction and zero defects, across a rolling shift pattern or day role, carrying out maintenance on heavy plant and equipment.
You will complete planned and reactive maintenance activities and carry out modifications to all types of heavy plant and equipment, liaising with operations to prioritise breakdown repairs, using fault finding diagnostic techniques and equipment to reduce the impact of reactive maintenance. You will assist the team when required in a range of activities, including project work, QA systems and Health and Safety. It’s vital that all activities are documented and carried out with due care and attention in line with our Health and Safety policy and HSE regulations.
What you'll bring
You will be qualified to a minimum of ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with experience of working with heavy plant and equipment in an industrial environment, ideally gained within Quarrying or Bulk Handling operations.
You will have extensive practical experience with relevant plant and equipment, including conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment. You will also be able to fault find and problem solve, utilising diagnostic equipment.
Possess a sound working knowledge of Permit to Work systems and incident reporting.
A working knowledge of Programmable Logical Control or drive control systems and HV networks would also be desired.
Knowledge of CMMS i.e. SAP and document sharing software as well as effective maintenance strategies such as RCM, PM, CBM & TPM is advantageous.
A full valid Driving Licence is essential for this role.
