Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Group IT Department based at the Port of Liverpool.

 

Role Purpose: To develop efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems as part of the Technology Solutions Team.

 

This role will include the following responsibilities:

 

- Working with the business to address problem areas or to provide technology-led process improvements

- Designing solutions to obtain maximum value from existing resources and systems, or propose alternate approaches

- Reviewing business activities for opportunities for improvement

- Define and evolve system concepts and technically feasible solutions that deliver improvements

- Ensuring any system changes adhere to Group IT Change Control, processes and documentation requirements

- Liaise with stakeholders from the business to refine solutions and agree a final plan

- Work with resources (both internal and external) to deliver the defined solutions

- Plan and manage requirement discovery workshops

 

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

 

- Degree qualified in a relevant IT based discipline

- Excellent communication and organisational skills

- An ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks, projects and change, in a fast moving environment

- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Analytical mindset with a drive for challenging the status quo

- Demonstrate a proactive approach to issues and have the confidence to find solutions

- Previous experience of working in IT and Project environment

- Ability to create and deliver plans against an agreed timescale

- Experience of analysing complex data sets and documenting trends and recommendations
