Vacancy - Town Planning Manager


Are you seeking a role where you can develop your professional planning skills and expertise and progress your career?  Are you excited by the opportunity to lead and support on a hugely diverse range of large scale development projects across diverse geographies?  We are seeking a Planning Manager to join our team at the Port of Liverpool to work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders!


Your Role



In this role you will work alongside the Group Planning Director in managing a diverse caseload of planning related activities, collaborating with Port Directors and the Property and Project Teams to work towards the delivery of strategic business initiatives across Peel Ports Group.  You will manage all aspects of the planning process for Port related schemes, from pre-application discussions through to submission and favourable determination of planning applications.


You will lead and manage the preparation of Port Master Plans and related studies/assessments and instigate effective stakeholder engagement.  You will support Port Directors in all regulatory planning elements of their business, managing an supporting the submission of permitted development  projects.  You will lead in the submission of written responses to national and local planning and related policy consultations.


What you'll bring


You will have previous experience of working with Local Planning Authorities, as well as holding (or being very close to completing) a MRTPI qualification.  You will have extensive development management experience, combined with planning application/EIA process experience.  An excellent communicator, you will be comfortable presenting to internal and external stakeholders and influencing others.


You will have strong community/stakeholder management experience, and the ability to manage multiple development projects concurrently.  Due to the nature of this role, you will occasionally be required to travel to other sites within the Group across the UK.
