Are you looking for a role in which you can oversee the daily operations of a fast paced Port terminal, ensuring efficient handling of bulk cargo, steel cargo, project cargo and devanning of containers?  Do you have excellent organisational skills with a good understanding of Health and Safety regulations and logistics management?  We are seeking a Port Supervisor to join our Peel Ports Logistics Team based at Birkenhead, and help us keep the world moving!

Your Role

 

In this role you will be responsible for daily operations management and vessel supervision, leading teams of employees and third party staff whilst also managing relationships with Port tenants.  You will ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards and company policies.

 

You will lead and support individuals within the team, identifying training opportunities and helping to upskill and develop team members.  Whilst this role will be based at Birkenhead, you may be required to provide additional support at other locations (e.g. Ellesmere Port and Runcorn).

What you’ll bring

 

You will have previous experience working in Logistics, Port Operations, or similar environment with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.  You will have excellent problem solving and decision making abilities, ensuring Health and Safety is at the forefront of all activities.  You will have strong IT skills, ideally with previous experience of SAP EHS and Destin8.

 

Previous experience supervising and leading teams, with a track record of supporting the development of team members.  A full valid driving licence is required for this role.
