Vacancy - Ships Agency Administrator (Part Time)

Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Ships Agency Department  of Peel Ports Logistics based at Ellesmere Port.  This is a Part-Time role.

 

Role Purpose: To carry out general administration duties to support the smooth operation of the ships agency department.

 

 

This role will include the following responsibilities:

 

- Checking, collating and processing supplier invoices, ensuring that costs are correctly allocated

- Use the company’s billing system (IFMS) to raise and send sales invoices, ensuring they are sent out with supporting documentation in a timely manner

- Credit Control – daily debt collection.  Liaising with accounts staff and customers to ensure on-time payments

- Communicate with the Forwarding department to ensure all vessels are cleared for imports/exports in line with HMRC requirements

- Maintain ships agency filed in an organised manner and sending invoices to customers on a timely basis

- To always be professional, courteous and responsive, ensuring that the company reputation is always maintained to the highest possible standard

 

Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:

 

- Previous experience in an administration role is advantageous

- An understanding of financial terminology and of invoicing would be beneficial

- Able to prioritise tasks in a fast moving environment

- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the business

- Must be willing to learn new skills and adapt to an ever changing work environment

- Willing and able to work on a Part Time basis
