Are you seeking a role in which you can help with the day to day running of a busy Container Terminal?  Are you excited by the opportunity to work in a fast paced, operational environment?  We are seeking a number of Shunt Operatives to join our team at MTL Dublin and help us keep the world moving! This is a nightshift role.

Your role

In this role you will support the operation of MTL Container Terminal, ensuring operations are effective, efficient and operated in a safe manner.  You will operate shunt plant across the port to ensure the accurate and efficient discharge and loading of vessels, complying with all policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.  You will carry out pre-checks on plant, machinery and equipment highlighting any damages or defects for quick resolution.  You will play an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture, reporting any incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences to the Shift Supervisor without delay. 

You will operate a Shunt, communicating accurate information to the Shift Supervisor, you will complete tasks in line with the nightly plan to meet operational requirements and the delivery of productivity and cost performance.

What you'll bring

You will have previous experience operating a Shunt with the ability to solve problems and deliver solutions to drive the operation forward.  You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team and communicate information clearly.   

A full valid driving licence is essential for this role.
